CHILDREN YOUNG PEOPLE AND FAMILY PRACTITIONER TRAILBLAZER STANDARD LEVEL 4

OCCUPATIONAL PROFILE

Children, Young People and Families Practitioners work to achieve positive and sustainable change in the lives of children, young people and families. Working alongside other professionals and organisations, you will share the responsibility for improving outcomes. Each case assignment with a child or family will be different; you will exercise judgement on a range of evidence-based approaches to inform your practice and regularly evaluate the effectiveness of your methods and actions. There are two pathways available to achieve this apprenticeship:

Boots UK, Centrica, Institute of Customer Service, Accelerator Solutions, bpi.recycled products, BT, E.On Energy, Osborne Property Services, Capita, Northern Power Grid

COURSE DURATION: 15 MONTHS

Fully Funded for 16-18 yrs

Employer contribution 5% 19+

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Employers decide the entry requirement typically:

■ 5 GCSEs (A*- C) including English and Maths

Level 2 English and Maths can be included in the programme if not achieved before starting the course.

INDUSTRY-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

■ Undertake the Disclosure and Barring Service process

COURSE OVERVIEW AND LEARNING 

The course is delivered on-site by an allocated personal tutor and tailored to the individual's place of work. Apprentices will work in a child or family workplace setting and will learn a range of skills to manage various situations and exercise judgement through a variety of evidence-based approaches.

END-POINT ASSESSMENT

■ Practical Observation and Q&A

■ Competence Interview (with accompanying Portfolio)

PROGRESSION

On completing the apprenticeship, you will be awarded a Certificate of Higher Education, which means you will have a higher education qualification that will allow you to progress onto a Level 5 course.
