Ring20 provide support for individuals, families and healthcare professionals who are affected by, or who come into contact with Ring Chromosome 20 Syndrome or r(20) – a rare epilepsy syndrome.

Vacancy Description

Ring20 is an epilepsy charity supporting families of those suffering from this rare condition around the world. The role Incorporates:

• Updating website

• Content creation for regular eNews and biannual newsletters

• Social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube - regular posts and updates, analysis and reporting of ‘hits’/trends

• Publications e.g., for conferences

• Creation of video content and still images, The purpose is to communicate regularly with the families we support; to provide information on research projects, advertise conferences (online or in person), promote fundraising and other activities as they arise.

• Ring20 can provide a computer for use by the individual working mainly from home. Access to own telephone is required.

• The apprentice will report to the CEO. A volunteer mentor with Comms experience will support the development of the individual.

• The apprentice will undertake training from their college/ e-learning

Qualification

· Digital Marketer Level 3

· English and Maths Functional Skills (If Required)

· Strong verbal communicator

· Good IT Skills – Microsoft Office – pre-requisite, Mail Chimp, Adobe Acrobat suite, use of survey tools (SurveyMonkey) preferable

· Experience of running extra-curricular activities e.g., sport, drama or music

· Experience of using a variety of social media apps

· Good writing skills

· Confidence and ability to interact with more senior individuals e.g., managers and trustees

· An interest in pushing the boundaries of medical research whilst supporting those suffering from r(20).

Salary

£360 per month

£ 4,320 per annum

Future Prospects

Possibility of becoming permanent staff at the end of apprenticeship for a successful candidate.
